The most common memory storage is referred to as the SD card or micro, mini micro SD (Secure Digital) etc. And these SD cards by themselves only store the data from a media device Typically you would use this in your camera or your cell phone.
Memory size is defined by the term “bytes” and is commonly referred to in terms of “Gigabytes” recently you may have heard of the term Terabyte. Speed of memory transfer is defined by kilobytes. It would go to follow that more memory or gigabytes that you have the more data that you will be able to store on your device. Certain data takes up more memory space than other data. For example a simple data document will take up a very insignificant amount of memory but a 10 mega pixel picture or a large audio file will take up more data storage space. A typical 2GB SD card will hold 400+ pictures at 10 mega pixels. With the growing availability and portability of data memory is an important consideration for any device used.
The next step in data storage is commonly referred as USB FLASH DRIVES. A USB flash drive will typically connect to a computer via a USB connector. Once the flash drive is connected it assumes the role of an external hard drive of the computer and you can transfer data of any kind into the USB flash drive up to its capacity by simply selecting the file to transfer in your internal hard drive and dragging it to the removable drive which is recognized when connected to the computer.
